stable+backports+couple of packages from etch

Hi,

Currently I am using my system as follow:
stable distribution with GNOME + Xorg(backports).
Here is my sources.lst file
Code:
#For-Packages from CD-ROM
#deb file:///cdrom/ sarge main

#Stable
deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian sarge main contrib
deb-src http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian sarge main contrib

#Testing
#deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian etch main contrib
#deb-src http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian etch main contrib

#Unstable
#deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian sid main contrib
#deb-src http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian sid main contrib

#Backports
deb http://www.backports.org/debian/ sarge-backports main

#For Security patches
deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib
Now I would like to install a package which tells me to upgrade the following packages(which are available in testing repo)

Code:
libc6, libc6-dev libdirectfb-0.9-22 libglib2.0-0

I cannot find the above packages in the backport.

So my question is it ok if I upgrade the above packages from testing repo and then again start using my system with stable and backports repo? Does anyone know if my system will break packages in near future or is someone familiar with this kind of situation.?

If you use 'apt-cache policy package-name' you can get version info about it. From there you can get a better idea about any possable breakage. If the only difference is that stable is at version 2.3.12 and etch is at 2.3.18, then I don't think the risk is too high. Otherwise you need to look at the debian bug tracking list to see if anything is posted there. http://www.us.debian.org/Bugs/
