Next release of Debian?

I was just wondering when the next stable release of Debian was projected to be... I saw the pictures of the new beta installer and it looks awesome.

Well, the others are right, a formal release date has not been set; Debian releases when it is ready. However, there is a strong push right now to get the next stable release out very soon, and test versions of it are already out there, and, for the most part work.

You may actually help out the project if you can download one of the ISO images for the testing release and report any problems back to the developers. The installer has undergone a LOT of work. It is nearing completion, and it does need rigorous testing. If you can help, that would speed the day of the release.

The main software itself is quite stable; only the packaging and installer still need a bit of work.

We'll see. I'm under the impression the developers will say anything to keep everybody happy. The rumour that Sarge will become stable has been going on for a long, long time and it is still testing. it will come out 'soon' since the debate about Gnome 2.6 entering testing or not.
