Laptop Suspend: Broken on Wake Up

When I suspend my Toshiba Satellite A25-S3072 with acpitool -s, and it supposedly suspends (I see a message attesting to the fact), on waking it up, it never restarts. I press every button, but no answer. All there is on the otherwise blank screen is a cursor (which does not accept input) and the phrase "linu" in yellow, halfway over. I have no clue as to what "linu" might be, and the laptop remains in that state. I am running Debian 4.0, on a Fresh install (I installed this morning). I have no idea as to where to go from here.
