Need help installing DSL & running it in a VAIO - see signature...
From another old VAIO (now dead) running XP I managed to change a Flash MP3 Player & installed there DSL (only 64MB available there). It worked well & saved my day more than once, since.
Now, it boots a Compaq HP nx9010 via usb but not the VAIO. I need to run another OS in the VAIO for making some partition changes, not the puppies I've frugally already in there.
The reason for this's that the changes I need to make in the hdd require that certain partitions are unlocked (using GParted for this): linux-swap & sda2.
My hdd structure is as follows: sda1 (~90 GB), sda2 (6.7 GB) & sda3 (~1.7 GB). There're 2 partitions of unallocated space there but it accounts for just a couple of MBs (<5 in total).
If I'm running PL528.005 as now I'm doing & put the Flash drive in an usb port, what files I need to put in, say, a folder within sda3 which has >350 MB of free space to be able to boot DSL? I know I've to make an edit of my grub menu.lst file for this to take place.
Thanks for any tips/info!
