located LQ Newbie Registered: Jun 2003 Location: St. Cloud, MN USA Posts: 9 Rep:	4 Newbies - Install Latest OpenOffice on Conectiva 9 1 Using Synaptic install “JRE”. (As I'm a newbie I installed everything that popped up related te JRE. 2 Download latest version of OpenOffice from OpenOffice.org. 3 Restart your computer.(This may be particular to my system but OpenOffice could not find JRE until I did this. 4 Left click on downloaded program. Choose extract all.When done, go into folder and click on “setup”.
