Using the built in Linux app support to install KDE games will be a pain since you will have to download all the various libraries and data files, I think. My Chromebook is too old to so has no support for Linux apps.
You could go the Crouton route.

Enabling developer mode will wipe the system, but once you log back into Chrome it will resync things, but you should backup any downloads.
You can then run a full Linux desktop ontop of Chrome using the Chrome linux kernel.
Dual booting Linux and Chrome is more involved then crouton, but gets around the few hardware limits in crouton.
