Great Debian Community

The story goes like this;

There will be DebConf 11 in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) from 24th to 30th July 2011. It's actually very close to where I live, but the fact is that economic situation in my country is bad, lot of people are out of work or not being paid for their work, etc. Basically, I wasn't sure will I be able to pay for whatever is necessary to be at DebConf 11 by myself, so I decided to apply for sponsored registration which is defined as follows;
Sponsored registration is the category which includes sponsored food and accommodation. You must register for this category by 19h May, 2011. In this category, you may still help cover the cost of your attendance by making a donation towards the cost of accommodation or pay for your own food tickets on-site. We will attempt to offer sponsored registration to all interested individuals who request it.
I still haven't recived an answer from the DebConf 11 organizers.

But then I saw another way to apply for DebConf 11, it was posted on http://www.debian.org/ recently. It's “DebConf Newbies”.
It boils down to;
If

you never have been to a DebConf, or
you last saw the conference in 2007 (Scotland)
you can schedule a week off in July
fear you might not make it with the normal sponsorship process (“they will never ever pick ME, im too small an ant in this project”)
then this is for you.
Because I really want to be at DebConf 11 and I never was at DebConf before, I've sent an email to DebConf Newbies. Last evening there was a new mail in my inbox, it was from Joerg Jaspert.

Those who do not know who Joerg Jaspert is, well here are two links;
http://people.debian.org/~joerg/
http://blog.ganneff.de/blog/

This is part of the message he sent me;
I put you into my list. As you also applied for the regular sponsorship, lets see what gets out of that. If you get money there you wont see any from newbies, but if not you have a place here.
All I will say is Debian Community is a great community because it's made of wonderful people.

Thanks Joerg!
