Bedrock's hijack code checks for WSL and reports an error message accordingly.
- Bedrock cannot work with WSL 1, as it lacked key Linux features such as FUSE. Other projects such as sshfs are also unable to operate on WSL 1.
- I have yet to try with WSL 2. My guess is it resolves the FUSE issue, but still refrains from including a proper boot/init process, which Bedrock's current design depends upon.
It may be possible to get Bedrock to work with WSL 2, but it would be some effort. We're unlikely to direct our limited resources in that direction for quite some time.
Bedrock Linux should work in a traditional VM just fine.
