After doing the md5checksum, what software did you use to put the iso on a usb, if using a usb? Have you tried booting it on another computer to eliminate a bad write as a possible problem. You indicate you have Mint and you formatted the drive. Do you still have Mint? Are you trying to install MX on the same drive? Post the output of either command below so we have some information on your drives/partitions. Run the command as root/sudo.

I only have one disk drive. To flash the usb drive I used balena etcher the first time and mint USB flasher the 2nd and 3rd time
So, why not post the output of parted -l? What partitions do you have? Do you have Mint installed UEFI? Are you booting MX UEFI?
I don't know the output of such thing. Last mint instalation was automatic so installer used EFI. I will show you mint partitions on Monday. I'm not that technical, I switched to Linux like 5 years ago or something. I gradually began to hate windows, I have used it since ms-dos/ windows95 and it's been downhill since win xp. I just use the browser mainly.
In your initial post, you indicated the last thing you saw running was 'parted -lm so all you need do is open a terminal and copy/paste the command: sudo parted -l

To check if installed . Something don't sound right here. parted is usually included in Mint.
Heck. I even have it on this chromebook install of antiX linux.
If you got no output from the parted/fdisk command, you did it wrong. The most likely problems is you typed it in using the key for the number one (1) rather than a lower case Letter L to LIST the partitions. I'm unaware of any Linux system that does not have both fdisk and parted.
