Question How does one make a static route persistent in AIX?

In AIX, I made a static route using a command similar to the following, but it wasn't persistent across reboots.

route add -host 10.1.1.10 10.2.2.254 -interface en0

I made a persistent static route using a command like:

lsdev -l inet0 -a route="-host",10.1.1.1,10.1.1.254"

The problem with the lsdev was that the routing table entry it created didn't have a "G" in the flags field (ie - the "gateway" field didn't really show the gateway to the host).

I remember some years ago in another *nix (perhaps Unixware) I had to edit /etc/inet/config to make a gateway entry persistent. Is there some config file in AIX I can simpy edit to make a static route persistent?

Thanks born4linux. Unfortunately, though smitty tcpip added the static route correctly, the route wasn't correct after the reboot. The G flag was missing (as shown by netstat -r), which means the value in the gateway field wasn't really a gateway.

I found there was a rc.net file in /etc that I was able to edit, which allowed me to add the route correctly during boot up.
