The problem with POSS (Permissive Open Source Software -- or in my opinion "Piece Of $#*! Software") in general is that proprietary forks can be made of it -- just look at the open FreeBSD and the proprietary Mac OS X as common examples. The MIT License and the Apache License are also ways of freeing software too much -- so much that proprietary forks of the software can exist and be used for exploitation by companies for big $$$$$$$$$ and hidden source code.
