The "stable" 7.0.16 problem has yet to be resolved, but
a new series 7.0.x test build and a new development snapshot, both dated today, 26 April, are available for testing at, https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds

For Slackware you want the one simply labeled, Linux 64-bit.

Documentation, "how to-s" and tutorials can be found at, https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Documentation

It works fine on both slackware64 Current & 15.0 in the Bridged networking modes.

Though I still get a python 3.11 warning still only using the "run" method to upgrade/install on slackware64 Current as I mentioned in:

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ml#post6496837

It does not appear to affect functionality.

Thanks once again cwizardone, because this:

https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds
and this:

sh ./VirtualBox-7.0.19-163060-Linux_amd64.run

handled the kernel upgrade to 6.9.0 very smoothly.

6.9.3 current not booting

hello, I've been running current vbox vm for years, along with a stable vbox vm.

Since last update to 6.9.3 my current vm won't boot from generic or huge.

If I forget to /sbin/lilo doing generic, huge has always been fallback.

Right now it's just sitting there saying 'Loading huge'.

My virtualbox install has always been running the linux version from Oracle downloads along with extension pack.

Since that wasn't working I thought of trying test build Version 7.0.19 r163377 (Qt5.15.2), no difference.

Stable vm boots and loads fine.

Anyone else current vbox vm working ok?

Here the 6.9.x kernel series has been the most stable in recent memory. Rock solid without a cough, hiccup, sneeze or stutter.
VirtualBox-7.0.97-163068-Linux_amd64.run, has ran without a problem, but let me download the recent stable version and try that.
Be right back.

Edit in: OK. Uninstalled the aforementioned version and installed VirtualBox-7.0.18-162988-Linux_amd64.run, dated 3 May 2024. It is running just as it should in "up to the moment" -current..

@cwizardone, thank you.

I do not do anything odd with the two vbox vms as in I like having vanilla to check on if necessary.

Let me do your edit and I'll get back.
