opensuse 11.1 and Mandriva one 2009

Over the past week I have have tested opensuse 11.1 and Mandriva 2009 in Virtual Box 2.06.
OpenSuSe demanded a minimum of 1.0GB ofRAM memory, just ;like its cousin, Vista. The OS was slow. Mouse integration didnot work. It was very unstable. Had to give up. All my efforts with opensuse

KDE 4.2 is still below beta quality

KDE 4.2 is still an alpha quality code. Code reaches beta quality when testers are required to find bugs. Anything with evident bugs is an alpha regardless of what it can do.

Since Slackware current testing readme tells us that KDE 4 will be probably merged into the main tree soon, I decided that it is time to check it out. In less than an hour I experienced the following immediately evident bugs:

As an IT professional you often run into mind boggling problems, just weird stuff which can throw you for a loop and leaving you scratching your head for days. Ask anybody who does it for a living and there will be at least one memorable horror story withing the last few months. Well I am no exception , however what I did with the erroneous hard drives was exceptionally fun ! I just found these pics laying around on an old external and figured I would share.

So last year I posted a blog about why my wife should let me spend our rent money on an android dev phone. Well as it turned out I ended up waiting a few months for my sprint contract to be up and jumped ship to Tmobile. Android is simply the best thing since sliced bread, it has everything I could need and then some. That being said there are multiple reasons why I rooted it. enable mp3 support in K3b - ubuntu 9.10

I recently took the plunge and upgraded my daily driver box to the latest greatest. There is nothing ground breaking about the install other than the speed of ext 4 so I wont bother going into that aspect. However one thing that threw me was K3b. When burning a cd for my daughter it kept coming up with
