Tilde / back-tick key not giving me a tilde or back-tic. Ubuntu 10.04 on Macbook Pro

I'm guessing this is a simple one, but I can't seem to find how to get my backtick/tilde key doing what it's supposed to. Currently, I get these chars with that key:

§ ±

My keyboard is set to US Macintosh. This is a Macbook Pro 5,1. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04.

TIA.

I had the same issue. When I set my keyboard to US however, it changed from § ± to < ! (instead of ` ~ as is displayed on the key).

To correct the issue, I set my keyboard to English (UK, Macintosh).

Hi Brian,

Code:
sudo nano /etc/rc.local
Add this line:
Code:
echo 0 > /sys/module/hid_apple/parameters/iso_layout
Source: askubuntu (dot) com (slash) questions (slash) 530325 (slash) tilde-key-on-mac-air-with-ubuntu

Hope this helps!
