GNU Privacy Assistant

Hi everybody
According to my Synaptic Package Manager I have the whole gnu suite of things installed. I don't know how to access them however. They don't show up my activities, nor in my main menu settings. I am running a gnome desktop.

I want to start to use encryption and need to be able to do it via this. Can somebody please tell me how I access this program? I used to use Ubuntu and there was no drama, but this has me stumped.

Any help greatly appreciated.

i installed gnu privacy assistant in a mint xfce 20 virtual machine. it is listed in synaptic package manager as gpa. when i right-click on the entry for gpa, choose properties and then look at the installed files tab i can see what files were created by the installation. /usr/bin/gpa is the name of the executable i can run from the command line (you just need gpa to run it). /usr/share/applications/gpa.desktop is the name of the desktop file that should show you the name it appears as in your menu (Name=?). for my installation that name is simply "gpa".

Thanks for that. In my haste and assumptions I had assumed that the gpa privacy assistant was installed. But it wasn't. I have no idea why. But I installed that and now it shows in my apps.

I feel like a bit of nong for not seeing that and assuming it was there. But, fixed now.

Your post made me look for it and seeing it not there was the answer.

Muchos appreciated!
