Vector is based on Slackware, does it use Slackware packages? If so, you could just use the Slackware package from http://www.winehq.org/site/download (no compiling required, just run the package installer)

As gilead said download slackware package from winehq.org. Change to root user.
# installpkg /path/to/wine.tgz
