VL 5.1 Wireless not working

I have installed VictorLinux 5.1 and have the system up and running. I've gone through the package setup via pkgtool and also through the X graphical network wireless setup but can't seem to get my wireless working.

I previously had Slackware 10.2 working fine with my wireless router but VL seems different.

I want to use Slackware on my Server but I'm looking for VL to be my desktop linux.

Any ideas on VL and wireless?

Bob

Does your system recognize the wireless adapter or is the problem with wireless setup scripts?

I type iwconfig "lo no wireless extensions."

I type ifconfig
lo Link encap:local Loopback
etc.

The light on my wireless PCMCIA card works... If I put the card in a windows machine it works.

The script must be wrong.

Ok, it seem that there is a problem with adapter setup and not the wireless scripts.

What kind of wireless card is it? Also, do you see anthing relevant to PCMCIA when you dmesg?

I want to know if the problem is the PCMCIA or the wireless driver.
