USB Drive in 4.3

So I went to the Vector wiki to see what I could find out about my external storage and I read that it should autodetect with hot plug and I just need to go to my floppy with it. Unfortunately this isn't the case.

I'm still a pretty big noob and want my drive to work so I can easily transfer files back and forth. What do I need to do to get this working?

In 5.0 SOHO, there's an icon on the desktop called 'pendrive' that runs a script in the /usr/X11R6/bin directory (probably called pendrive). The script looks that the various sd* devices and mounts the appropriate device and opens up Rox-Filer.

If this script and icon exists in 4.3 - that would be the place to start.

Also, run 'dmesg' after you plug in the device and see what messages appear - they should tell you if it's being recognised properly or if there are errors.
