uninstalling the existing application


sir
1. in my pc i have installed tripwire -2.3.1-2-i686.tgz
2. i want to uninstall this application.the problems which i am facing are :
a) when i am typing make uninstall it is showing following msg :
------------------------------------------------------
make: *** No rule to make target `uninstall'. Stop.
------------------------------------------------------
b) is it the correct way of uninstalling the application or if there is any other way or other command than please let me know about it.

try typing:

apt-get uninstall <name of app to be uninstalled>

then follow the prompts if any regarding dependancies.
