Just installed this SOHO 5.1.1 on my laptop, sick of waiting for RR4 and SuSE 10.1, so I have been installing a bunch, and I have to say thi sis the first new one I kind of like. Though I seem to be missing something in terms of how to get more software. It looks like the only repos I see are the vecotr linux repos and mirrors. It came with KDE 3.4.3, I want 3.5.1, does Vector Linux have other software repositories rather than the main one and how would I go about setting them in glsapt?
Or is it left to, you don't unless you compile it all yourself?
Nope, for a KDE 3.5.1, all you need to do is download the Slackware Packages from the KDE 3.5.1 Info Page on the KDE Website (http://www.kde.org/info/3.5.1.php#binary). Then remove the original KDE packages and install the new ones.
Well, my issue there is Radeon 8500+ will handle this just fine, and I can do that. But with lower than the 8500, it won't install. I have seen a few people try workarounds, but I have yet to see anyone repeatably successfully. Instead, there are a ton of workarounds...
