problem starting firebird

How do I get Firebird to start?

I'm using Vector 4.0.

The desktop icon doesn't respond and when I type firebird at the command prompt it says:

/usr/X11R6/lib/MozillaFirebird/run-mozilla.sh: line 454: 469 Illegal instruction "$prog" $(1+"$@")

Thanks.

Okay,

I got something working. I found an old question here about the same thing. It looks like there's a bug in Firebird. It doesn't like old Pentium computers. That's what I'm using. It's a 200.

I had two versions of firefox 0.8 on a CD. The gnu version had the same problem but the gtk2 version works fine.

I'm using it now with Vector 4.0. So far so good. Not slow or sluggish at all.
