Xubuntu Live disks not working(disk is intentionally plural not a typo)
I like the xfce desktop environment over the gnome one. So when i chose an emergency plan B in case something happens to windows AND/OR arch, i always try Xubuntu. I have made multiple live disks from multiple computers, and none of the live disks function properly. One went haywire when i tried to update the system(can't remember exactly what went wrong), one would not even actually boot into the live disk, one would not install, and so forth and so on. At first i just though it was something wrong with the iso since the download had been paused and resumed multiple times, but right before i chose arch linux a friend tried using his xubuntu disk and it failed to work either, and i recently tried using another computer and had another failed result. Is this a common problem? or am i just highly unlucky?
I'm not sure what the question is here exactly, as you haven't really explained what specific problem you are having. But if you are asking if it is common for live CDs not to work on some machines, then yes, that is fairly common. It is very difficult to make a OS that boots from a CD and works reliably on every computer ever made, there are bound to be little issues here and there.
Though you should still verify the MD5 of the ISO, as it is also quite possible the image was corrupted.
Hm the problem is simply that no matter what machine I've tried the disk on and no matter what machine I burn it with the live disk usually either has a problem running as a live disk, problems installing, or problems updating. As for verifying let's see...I think I got it and my ubuntu iso from softpedia, the ubuntu one works, xubuntu doesnt
I know how to burn the image, i have got a functioning Ubuntu, sorcerer, source mage, and lunar linux live disks. the only one that will not work is xubuntu. me and 3 other people i know have tried and none of us can get the disk to work without some kind of problem arising
