Wine Problem...

okay, this probably isn't the first time this has been asked... ;-)

i tried to install wine tonight. i followed this tutorial...

http://wiki.winehq.org/UbuntuAMD64

...designed to install the 32 bit version of wine on my amd64 box. i followed the instructions and, like all good tutorials, it leaves you dangling off the cliff!

what do i do now? i expected to see a .wine folder in my home directory - no luck there. is my wine installed? when i search *wine*, i get some returns, but i can't find .wine.

i installed ia32libs and lib32asound2, but it sounds like i might need to install more, as yet un-named, packages.

can anyone help here?

tia...

I just do what the readme says, go to the main source directory and do "./tools/wineinstall".

It has ALWAYS worked for me.
