usb device auto detect

I usually use xfce as my window manager. I was using gnome once, and I plugged in my digital camera. Gnome detected my camera automatically. Can I make this service run on xfce? is there any daemon that I have to start ?

xfce uses the file explorer xffm if you navigate to your devices there will be some icons named usb0 and usb1 (i thinks) if you right click the first you can mount it and then a green led will pop at the icon. That means it was mounted succesfully and you can use it like a storage device
