Update Firefox to newer version

Hi.

I'm using Ubuntu with Firefox 1.04. It's too old to use new extensions and newer functions. I wanna update it to the lastest version of FireFox. How can i do?

I downloaded package tar.gz from getfirefox.com but i dun know how to install them. I aslo had used update of Ubuntu to check the update of firefox but they told me that my ubuntu had been up-to-date already ???

Thanks.

If your using Ubuntu "breezy" (the latest version of Ubuntun) here's the guide from the ubuntu wiki, it will walk you through it. If you have any questions about what they say there, just post back here and we'll try to help you out.

A quick search of the Ubuntu forums (I would check there first next time) revealed the following:

HOWTO: Install Firefox 1.5 from mozilla.org

Hope this helps!

::EDIT:: Someone beat me to it
