[SOLVED] Ubuntu : capability to Revert back to previous OS ?

Ubuntu : capability to Revert back to previous OS ?
For Ubuntu,
if can Revert back to previous OS ?
1) If the upgrading has some issues in the middle of upgrading process,
say the installation is aborted , if it will revert everything back to the original states automatically ? or , if it aborts in the middle, the OS will broken, you must reinstall ?

2) If the OS already upgrade successfully, if want to downgrade to
previous Version, if must re-install ?
