Question Ubuntu can't get cache data on startup

I have ubuntu 12.04 LTS

uname:
Code:
 uname -a
Linux XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 3.8.0-35-generic #49~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 13 18:05:00 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
On startup I get a continuous scrolling of the following:
Code:
[ 1058.659091] sd 16:0:0:0: [sdc] Asking for cache data failed
[ 1058.659111] sd 16:0:0:0: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through
If it does end up by loading it freezes.
Could someone point me in the right direction?
BTW, I am presently on a previous kernel (3.8.0-34-generic). I changed the number from 34 to 35 to reflect the change, so the uname might not be accurate. Also, the number after the sd might be different, I had to write it as it was scrolling by at the speed of light.
My windows is OK on the same machine but a different hard disk.

I shut it down and restarted and it seems OK.
I had started it 3-4 times and it had given me problems every time.
I don't like this intermittent behavior.
Feels like something is failing, like my graphics card or sound card or something.

Code:
sd 16:0:0:0: [sdc]
Is this the drive where your system is installed? Could you post your system specifications please?
Also please post the dmesg output.

Regards

I've been restarting in order to reproduce the faulty behavior, but I can't.
Dmesg has 1044 lines. Which ones would be interesting?
What do you mean by system specifications? Is there a command like uname which would give me this info?
Thanks for the help.

System specifications means, how much RAM, what type of processor, storage media, video.
Please attach the dmesg as txt file.
Type in the console:
Code:
dmesg > dmesg.txt
That will generate a file in the current directory.
This sort of information is needed in order to spot what the problem is.
Do you have only one system installed in your machine?

Cheers
