Question Ubuntu 16.04 slow boot up

Recently installed fresh Ubuntu 16.04 on old HP 6715b Compaq Notebook.
Installed from DVD.
Slow start ever since, so upgraded Grub to from Install Disc and received query'Start-up partition' is a long way from beginning of disc (It's actually installed at backend). Claims that on start up the Grub2 has to rad full disc before discovering Start partition.
Query: How do I replace position of Start Partition on HD to beginning of Disc, without losing files?
