Question strange Googlies..!

[B]Hello all!
I finally got myself installed with Ubuntu - great stuff.
The one problem I've got is on "Ubuntu Software Centre > GOOGLE" - When I started, there were only two programmes available on there - "Picasa" (now disappeared) and "Google Earth".
I installed both of them, no problem - except they didn't open - either of them! What am I doing wrong?
Anybody out there who can enlighten me?

Any error messages?
How are you opening them?
Try to open them from a terminal, and look for the error messages.

Kind regards
