Question Should I Remove Flash/Firefox ?

Is Flash still a big security risk in Ubuntu?
I have just installed the newest LTS version with Firefox.

I also installed VLC media player.

I've read opinions on flash being a security issue and I experienced this in Windows years ago. I see older opinions on this but, but nothing recent.

Maybe the security issue is resolved?

Also people have mentioned that Firefox had problems and I should use Chromium.

Opinions, evidence, and advice anxiously sought . . .

Adobe never made that secure, so everyone dropped it on sites and it's EOL, the motor car equivalent of being scrapped.

You don't even want to be on websites using flash. They'll have it in case some sucker comes along with flash installed.

It's not likely. Firefox has not natively supported Flash in many years.

It may have installed itself when I did the restricted addons. I did find references to flash in the directory structure.

Flash became unsupported over two years ago.

I would consider it very unlikely that Ubuntu would have somehow installed it, but you can search to see if it is installed.
