Changing the DocumentRoot in Apache2

hi all!

I'm a newbie in Linux, last week I installed Ubuntu 5.04 in my laptop
I had a question regarding apache2 which I installed just now.

My question is:
Where & how do you change the DocumentRoot (var/www/apache)?

I found some information on the net that if you want to change the document root you'll need to change the DocumentRoot in the httpd.conf
But the thing is i couldn't even find the word document root in the httpd.conf
and i assume that the httpd.conf is the same as apache2.conf but still there is nothing saying DocumentRoot. All I could find is ServerRoot

I just wanted to change the DocumentROot into different folder actually.

Any help would would be appreciated, thanks!

Try typing in a console: man httpd if nothing appears you need to install the apache-manual.

The apache 2 config is modular. You can have multiple virtual servers with multiple Documentroots by editing files in sites-available in /etc/apache2/ and using the comand a2ensite. See /usr/share/doc/apache2
