Glad to see that you where able to pinpoint the problem.

BTW: You could post the python script here. Maybe someone can help you out with that as well.

I'm not a python man myself, but could it be you are using variables that are only present when you have a login shell?

Guys in the python mailing list are very quick. To run a python script I have to first change the directory and then call the python file:

#!/bin/sh
cd /home/mahmood/
python sendip.py
