Ubuntu 7.10 - I created a custom launcher and decided to change the icon. I did not find one to my liking in the icons shown so I clicked the "Browse" button in the "Browse Icons" window. I know from searching outside of the launcher creating process that icons are stored in /usr/share/icons/(several subdirectories). However, when I open a subdirectory of icons in the "Browse" window launched by this process it appears empty although I know there are icon files present. If I click the "Open" button in the "Browse" window the icons are populated back into the "Browse Icons" window and I can then select one from there.
Is this a bug I should report or is there some reason why the "Browse" window does not show an files? Is there a setting somewhere else which I need to change to make the files appear? There do not seem to be any preferences to change within the "Browse" window.
usr/ share/ pixmaps/ start there let me know then. it would have been nice if you told us the program some of them instal into the lib file under there own pixmap or images.
Thanks Drakeo. I did find the icon I wanted. The launcher I was working on was in fact a "location" to an ssh connection to my server. My point is that the Browse window which accesses the file system (launched from the Browse Icons window which shows icon graphics) should at least indicate that the directory to which I have navigated contains some files.
