Easy, depending on the problem : )
Just remove the app and broken related packets... for in sequence to do a complete reinstall
In my case when I tried to add vim-gtk, the system complained about vim-common and vim-runtime
# Removing:
sudo apt-get remove --purge vim
sudo apt-get remove --purge vim-common
sudo apt-get remove --purge vim-runtime
# refresh repositories (optional)
sudo apt-get update
# reinstall
sudo apt-get install vim
