firefox 1.5 upgrade for breezy

How do I install Firefox 1.5 on Breezy? How do I get mplayer and the latest Flash for Breezy?

I tried apt-get upgrade but it did not find any new Firefox version. I'm using the sources.list that was installed with the Breezy installer.

Is there an Ubuntu Guide for Breezy?

Thanks,

SR

You could just use the default mozilla binary install from mozilla.org...

Mozilla.org is hardly a risk tho...

Or just wait for the update to come to the repository. 1.5 is not that much different anyway.

For those who are interested in Ubuntu Linux 5.10

I have made a collection of help files, 1 executable, and a few terminal commands to make updating Ubuntu 5.10 very easy.

With this file you get Firefox 1.5, Java sun-j2re1.5, Opera 8.51, a simple set-up for Privoxy (proxy server), and access to all the necessary codecs.

Ubuntu 5.10 help+upgradefiles.tar.gz.

Quote:
sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list_backup
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

sudo apt-get update
*run the update command after you have substituted the existing file with the one I give you

* I have since removed Firefox 1.5 & am using Opera 8.51, which you can d/l [Ubuntu version] from their site. Then, in the terminal, just run the command I have included in 1 of my help files.

please have a look at http://www.ubuntux.org/firefox-1-5-l...my-ubuntu-5-10

There you find how to install Firefox 1.5 on Ubuntu 5.10 (it isn't in the official repositories yet).

What do you see as the benefits of Opera over Firefox? I tried Opera but have now gone back to Firefox.

1.5 locks quite a bit on breezy & java (yeah I know who cares about java support in the browser) if screwed also. but i'm too damn lazy to go back to anything < 1.5
