Converting FAT32 to Ext2

Hello everyone.

I recently migrated to Ubuntu 6.06. I have one hard disk with 4 partitions, 1 Ext2 and the rest FAT32. Now I am having trouble converting the other to Ext2. Can anyone give me a hand to convert them and then have them mounted as /media/hda1, /media/hda6 and /media/hda7?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

As root you can run cfdisk or fdisk to edit these partitions. Otherwise, I am sure that Ubuntu has gparted a gui based partition editor.
Read the cfdisk or fdisk man pages very carefully before using. No changes will take effect until you select "write". You can always back out if you are uncomfortable with the process.

#man cfdisk
or
#man fdisk

Where ever you decide to mount new partitions you must enter them into your /etc/fstab file.

use "mke2fs -j /dev/hdaX" to format them to ext3 after you have fone the (c)fdisk stuff, where hdaX is the partition you want to format.
