automatic USB pen drive working

Can Ubuntu get a usb disk working automatically? What about other distros that can? I know Fedora and others can not without monkeying with the kernel.

Ubuntu can. Mepis can. SuSE can. Mandriva can.

I find it hard to believe Fedora can't, but I haven't used it recently. Blag can, and it's Fedora-based.

Just find the most recent version of the distro you're using. For example, Mepis 3.3 cannot do it, but Mepis 3.3.1 can.
