? about ubuntu and wine and cisco vpn

I have ubuntu 6.10, and I was wandering what the chances were of wine running a cisco vpn. it installs a vpn adapter to "network connections" in windows and it's like a virtual network adapter, and I was wondering if that would work on ubuntu...i'm thinking not, but you never know. is there an alternative I could use?
