OK, I think I got Mplayer installed, it installed through Yast as they were RPM's. Install went OK it seems as it says the package installed successfully. Problem is, I can't find it anywhere to run. Does anybody know the command to run it? Through comand line or the run command?
Thanks!!
RANDON
to make things easier, just uninstall any suse xine installation and replace with items at the link above. for dvd, i prefer xine; for other stuff, mplayer seems better - that baby will play just about anything, oh yeah!!!
Don't use the "run" at your KDE/Gnome, fire up a terminal and type mplayer. Doing so, you will get a much better output of errors(if any). If you installed the gui, you should use "gmplayer" instead. If you are going command line only, try "mplayer /path/to/movie/file.avi". Check the documentation or man pages for a complete list of commands...

You seem wary of Xine, for some reason. Staying away fromit may have increased your dependency hell. Here's an Mplayer cure that should do the trick, along with adding Packman to your sources for easy install of other items down the road. (Does anyone know if and how you can add Guru this way????)
you can use YAST to install MPlayer. You do this by adding the http://packman.links2linux.org/ site to your YAST sources. Here is how it is done.
To add it as a YAST source.
Open Control Center
Open YAST modules
Open software
Change source of installation
ADD "HTTP"
As server name add "packman.iu-bremen.de"
As directory add "suse/9.2" (or 9.1, if that's your distro) http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...09#post1102609
Now, install mplayer, mplayer-plug-in, win32codecall through Yast's "Install Software" Be sure to pick the Packman sources.
When you re-start Firefox, Quicktime, wma, wmv and mpegs should now work in your browser and Mplayer should play everything else.
So, for those who don't like Xine, that's a solid Mplayer solution. Easy as pie.

Well I tried at the run command" mplayer, gmplayer" not like that though, seperatly, and it said "could not run specified command!"
Then I tried it through command line , typed "mplayer" and "gmplayer" and it just went down to the next line looking like this:
