upgrade SLES 10sp2 to SLES 11

I'm just wondering if any one done unattended/automatic upgrade from sles 10sp2 to sles 11. I have a project coming up in near future to upgrade almost 200nodes to sles11. so could you point me to right documentation?
Thanks in advance.

do a clean reinstall

it would be one thing going from 11.1 to 11.3
but 10 to 11.3 -- no

John_VV might be referring to openSUSE 10->11.x which might be more of a pain.

In researching on the web, I found http://solarisalternatives.sourceforge.net/ where the first link in the right pane is "Automatically upgrade from SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 to 11 in 5 easy steps". (The link points to http://reg.accelacomm.com/servlet/Fr...nt?id=51248905 but requires a registration to get the 10 page PDF).

I'd be interesting in how it works for you...

Thanks for your response.
Doc looks promising.
I'd be interesting also to see how this works. Have you got a chance to test this out?
I need to figure out how I can download the upgrade package first.

Thanks

So my customer ran with it as soon as we found the upgrade DUD in the SLES11sp1 channel (that he had mirrored over to his SMT server). Upon installing the rpm -- unattended_upgrade_dud-0.0.1-1.1.{arch}.rpm.

So if you have access to updates (via the Novell customer center), you should be able to either obtain this one update or mirror the channel locally (esp. if you're looking to upgrade multiple servers). The files would then be located in:

.../$RCE/SLES11-SP1-Updates/sle-11-{arch}/rpm/{arch}/unattended_upgrade_dud-0.0.1-1.1.{arch}.rpm
.../$RCE/SLES11-SP1-Updates/sle-11-{arch}/rpm/src/unattended_upgrade_dud-0.0.1-1.1.src.rpm

where {arch} is your architecture and ... = /srv/www/htdoc/repo

So far he has it working via mini bootdisk and the DUD on an accessible ftp site.
In the next couple of weeks we're looking to get it working with PXE (which isn't working).

HTH....
