Linuxant worked because my laptops wireless light is on but i dont know what to do next. I have wpa on my router and i am currently using an erthnet cable instead of my wireless. how do i configure my wireless to work?

Thanks

I've used both and both work great. I have one comp using Linuxant and the other using Ndiswrapper.

Make sure in Yast you have WPA_Supplicant package installed for WPA support and also while you're there install netapplet and knemo.

Then just go to Yast MOdules/Network Devices/Network Card and edit your Wireless card there (it should be there already from Linuxant). You shouldnt really have to change much, but after you click next you can choose your wireless settings (i.e. managed, essid, encyprtion - WPA-PSK and enter your key). Once you finish that you're set.

GO to Suse Menu/Internet/Administration. It should launch netapplet in your taskbar and you should be able to click it by the clock and select wlan0 and in a few seconds you're online.

Let me know if you need more help.

EDIT: I got it to work! I had to change my router configuration to WPA2 Personal + AES security. Problem solved!

-------------------
Argghh! I spent the past hour trying to get my wireless card on my laptop to work with my Linksys WRT54GS router.

I did everything you mentioned and installed WPA, netapplet, and knemo. They are all there and I have the icons in the my taskbar. For some reason, eth0 (ethernet card) always connects even though there is no cable attached to the laptop. My eth1 (wireless) cannot connect, despite my configuration of WPA-PSK in the network card configuration. I put my passphrase and SSID but it won't do anything.

This is why Linux is frustrating.
