ok i have searched and looke dbut cannot find anything that fits the bill.

i am using Novell Linux Desktop (suse)

i am authenticating via LDAP.

if i create a user locally and delete them i can recreate the user with the same username.

if , however, i create a local user and then authenticate to the LDAP server with a user of the same name and then delete the local user, i cannot the recreate the user using the origional name.

am i missing something? the user is definately gone according to Yast.

so how do i convince Linux that i can make a new user with a previously used name?

is there a file i can edit?
