Question Re-partitioning my hard drive...need help!!

I have Windows XP and Suse 9.0 Pro installed as a dual boot system. Currently, the hard-drive is partitioned 30gig for Windows and 30 gig for Linux.

I had no problems setting the system up this way, because Suse pretty much automatically did it for me. I just installed the linux disk into the drive of the computer (that already came with windows), and it pretty much took care of the rest. The yast configuration tool asked me a few questions about how I wanted to set up the drive space, and that was that.

However, I am considering re-partitioning to give myself more space on the Windows side. Maybe an additional 15 gig, and I am trying to figure out if it's worth the effort. Am I going to lose all of my Windows data if I re-partition? At this point it would be a serious pain in the butt to try to re-set up my windows system, since I have done a lot to customize it.

Can anyone tell me if the Suse feature in Yast will allow me to re-partition without disrupting my data and software on the Windows side? Or am I going to have to start over from scratch with everything?

Any other advice or help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
~njs

try the gparted live disk. It's sometimes dangerous, but you might be able to resize the partitions.

Smile I recommend....

I recommend getting a copy of Partition Magick and using it on the windows side, no you will not lose any information on eithere side and it is very quick and very painless...the only thing that will be in any pain is your wallet....if your into paying for software.....

Good Luck
