Package not found on Medium

I have just install Suse10.0 on a new dual boot drive with Win2K, all went oaky. Now when I try to run a 'RPM" using YAST it get an error message "Package not found on Medium". I had copied all old files from off of a backup DVD to the new drive, and all files show they are locked. When I gave them new full use permission still get error. I then downloaded the file direct to hard-drive, still get error. Any help appriciated.

Open the terminal, and login as root.

rpm -ivh <your filename>

Just learned that myself.
Above will work if file is in your home directory. I've been reading that YaST2 has issues with local installs. Course, I've been reading that for awhile and its not been addressed yet.
