openSUSE GNOME 3 in Virtual Box... Where's the top toolbar?

I thought GNOME's traditional look was a toolbar at the bottom and one at the top... What happened? I'm looking at some images of openSUSE GNOME 3 on Google Images, and they have the top panel. Do I have to manually add and configure the panel? If so, can someone guide me through the ways on how I can? If not, how can I get the top toolbar? Link to image

Hi,

Gnome3 still has a top and bottom bar...but the're black now and thus fade into the ... nothing. Not a pretty sight, I admit...

Also, you'll notice the icons are gone. No more icons, according to the designers, who seem to think nobody needs icons...while they neglected to keep people like me in account, people who actually like cluttered screens...

But, yes, there still is a top and bottom bar, and the whole thing looks like an obituary...

I may change desktop, maybe XFCE or E17 (as some good folks suggested here)...

By the way, the link is dead...

Thor
