Joining a linux machine to a windows domain having a wndows 2003 as domain contoller
I want to join my opensuse box (10.3) to a windows domain (ADDS). I have configured krb5 - but that only shows a dropdown for the domain and does not show any domain name in that.
I would like to have a step by step help towards completing the process of joining the machine t the said domain. I would like to be able to see and work on files which I have share in. And obviously for doing that first of all I have to be able to log in to that windows domain.
Is it anyway possible that if I try to do the above without editing anything whatsoever in the windows server - it will edit the windows ADDS in the process. There is one option in the samba service configuration of the said distro saying "domain logons". Is it required to be enabled at boot time to serve my purpose?
