In SuSE the easiest way to install software is through YaST, in order to do this YaST needs the installation sources, by default SuSE adds the DVD or set of CDs that you used for installation as sources.
In your case, it seems that YaST can't read that package or can't find it from your installation sources and that's why it stops there. When this happens, and you hit the abort button nothing will happen. You must kill the application from the console. Find with the command top, or using Ksysguard the number of the process linked with YaST and type in console as root:
# kill /number/of/process
To solve your problem you have to set up your installation sources, go to YaST -> Software -> Installation Source, by default you should see at least one line that corresponds to your DVD or set of Cds, as you may see, you can add other sources, in this case repositories from the internet, you can read this tutorial:
