I just installed Suse 10 on my machine with kde, and everything is going well. Internet works, usb works, sounds works, the monitor gamma even looks better than in windows.

BUT, the icons on my deskop suddenly dissapeared and i can only see the names. I checked all the options i could find, tested them. reboot, set everything back to default, prayed a little and nothing.

If you don't get an alternative solution, logout of kde and login to a terminal (ctrl-alt-f2 whilst at the login manager screen). Remove your kde settings directories and files (.kde and .kderc). Logout of the terminal (type exit) and then go back to the gui login manager by doing ctrl-alt-f8 and then login to kde.

Try also at the Control Center of KDE the option of Appereance and Themes.
At the icons section there must be an option for the icons size.
(sorry for not remembering exactly the path, at my work we don't have linux..)
I've had this problem before when I tried to change a theme that I downloaded back to the defaults.
