Epson 2450 config trouble with SuSE 9.1

I recently downloaded the ISO for 9.1 and the install went great. I was able to configure my soundcard, HP932c printer, and HP 315 digital camera without any trouble. But when I tried to configure my Epson 2450 Scanner YAST just hangs. I cannot even close the window, all I am allowed to do is logout. I am very new to the LINUX realm and am not real familiar with the command line, but can follow directions. How can I get this scanner configured.

You might start on the epson website, and pay attention to the 26 page howto written specifically for installing epson printers and scanners in linux?
