Question Disabling ipv6 on SuSE 10.0

How do i disable ipv6 in SuSE 10.0? This is the cause of my slow Firefox that times out. I tried disabling at Yast>system>/etc/sysconfig Editor>desktop>KDE_USE_IPV6
however, my firefox is still slow. I haven't dived into modprobe.conf quite yet or any other .conf files associated with ipv6, i'd figure to wait for a second opinion first.
Thanks,
VIR3NT

you have only, take care of KDE, but not other apps (i.e. FF)

open terminal and run
echo "alias net-pf-10 off" >> /etc/modprobe.conf
echo "alias ipv6 off" >> /etc/modprobe.conf

restart computer.
That is all

If yoy want to disable ipv6 in FF only then open FF and enter in the address line:
about:config
(no spaces)

in the filter line enter:
ipv6
now double click on
network.dns.disableIPv6
this will switch the value from false to true.

however modeprobe is the best. It disables ipv6 in the whole system. Currently there is no real ipv6 application. Obviousle this is easily reversible.
